Balaclava is an artist-run studio and project space in downtown Edmonton, founded by artists erψn temp3st and Steph Patsula. Our 835-square-foot studio is home to our individual and collaborative practices, and a space for ongoing research, experimentation, and making.
Downstairs, we have access to a larger, raw basement project space for exhibitions, performances, installations, workshops, and other temporary projects.
Balaclava is interested in experimental, interdisciplinary, and process-driven work, and in creating space for artists to try things out, take risks, and gather outside of more formal institutional settings.
